Arctic ice refuses to melt as ordered
We keep hearing about the Arctic ice melting, yet we never see the promised flooding. The only flooding we ever hear about is that of New Orleans. As far as I can tell, the rising of the oceans is no more than normal. If we are having all this melting, where is the water going? One answer is that if it’s sea ice the level of the ocean will not raise. The other answer is that we are not having the melting as promised by Algore and the likes of him.
The National Snow and Ice Data Center (NSIDC) in Boulder, Colorado released an alarming graph on August 11, showing that Arctic ice was rapidly disappearing, back towards last year’s record minimum. Their data shows that Arctic sea ice only 10 per cent greater than this date in 2007, and the second lowest on record.
Once again NASA satellite data tells us something different. The adjacent photos tell a different story, and that is the ice pack grew to identical to 2002, 2005 and 2006 levels. As I have discussed before Arctic Ocean ice levels are controlled in part to ocean currents. Over and over again the estimations of arctic melting is over exaggerated.
Below is a video showing the expansion of arctic ice from august 2007 to august 2008.
