Gulf Spill Presents A Slippery Problem

Jun 13th, 2010 by Zehaas | 1

Whenever you have any substance, toxic or not, you are going to have accidents. When the accidents happen, a PLAN must pre-exist so that action can be immediately taken.

Instead, our illustrious leader, Obama, chose to ignore advice of industry experts, go on a personal vacation, and then, authorize only a fraction of the resources requested to handle the spill, at which point was weeks after the april 20th explosion on the BP Horizon oil rig. The Gulf residents are unimpressed by the performance of this administration. Obama didn’t even visit the gulf until six weeks after the accident.

Of particular interest about the public reaction: A CHICAGO NBC poll result shows that 80% of the CHICAGO locals are “Furious” about the President’s handling of this crisis. Okay, bear in mind Chicago is Obama’s home town, and NBC is essentially a propaganda arm of the Obama administration, and the poll STILL shows the people are furious.

let’s say, on the bright side, this should generate a lot of temporary jobs for the cleanup, which should help local economies.

NOW what’s being done seems too little and too late to save the gulf beaches, and well, let’s say, on the bright side, this should generate a lot of temporary jobs for the cleanup, which should help local economies.

CAUTION is needed at this point, not just with the technical difficulties of cleanup, but with what is bound to be a backlash against ALL energy exploration in domestic waters.

Indeed, if I were a “Greenie”, this would be my life’s dream realized. Forever more, even above the disaster of the Exxon Valdez, I will have something to point at and say, “I told you so!” every time “Big Oil” tries to do more drilling.

Be very clear. For our country’s economic health we NEED energy independence. We have to keep developing and exploring, or we will forever rely for our energy and economy on countries that overtly hate the United States of America and its interests.

The lesson learned: Do everything we can to prevent accidents. Have a plan in place to correct the inevitable accidents, and do NOT ever stop trying to become energy-independent as a nation.

Imagine a non-polluting power plant the size of a local gasoline station, that would quietly and safely power 4,000 homes, for a tenth of what you are paying now.

Free Solar Power Is Hot Air

Apr 13th, 2008 by Zehaas | 2

Wouldn’t it be grand if we had a guaranteed supply of hot air that runs electrical generator turbines and doesn’t cost a dime? This is the idea behind a large-scale solar electric generator that requires ZERO FUEL. <== Pause here and think about that for a minute…

Home-Made Solar Generator

Apr 4th, 2008 by Zehaas | 10

A portable solar generator provides both household (120-Volt) and automotive-type (12-Volt) current. It has a battery which it charges with a photovoltaic (PV) panel, and an inverter which converts the 12V from the PV to the 120V that we all use for our stuff. By “stuff”, I mean all the conveniences of home, such as laptop computers, satellite transceivers, boom boxes, TVs, short-wave radios, fans, and electric cucumbers. (I don’t even know what that means).

NOAA: Coolest Winter Since 2001 for U.S., Globe

Mar 15th, 2008 by WebMistress | 0

Below was taken from NOAA:

March 13, 2008

The average temperature across both the contiguous U.S. and the globe during climatological winter (December 2007-February 2008) was the coolest since 2001, according to scientists at NOAA’s National Climatic Data Center in Asheville, N.C. In terms of winter precipitation, Pacific storms, bringing heavy precipitation to large parts of the West, produced high snowpack that will provide welcome runoff this spring.

A complete analysis is available online.

Amazing 200 MPG Electric Trike

Mar 7th, 2008 by Zehaas | 6

Don’t dream it, be it
Sometimes when I can’t afford to actually DO something or MAKE something (i.e. most of the time), I just sort of sit down and THINK about it. The spiritual among us would call this visualizing. I call it dreaming.

Making Gasoline Out Of Thin Air

Feb 20th, 2008 by Zehaas | 12

The hell you say!
Gasoline right out of the air? Yes, and I can prove it. The concept is so simple, I should have thought of this myself. To understand how we get gasoline from thin air, you have to know what gasoline is made of. So here’s all you need to know. Don’t freak out at the molecule diagram. Anything you can represent with Tinkertoys® can’t be that hard.
